Alabama Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System has a new Laboratory Director

As of June, 1 2018 Dr. David Pugh has retired from the AVDL.  Dr. Heather Walz is the new Director of the Alabama Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System. Dr. Walz has been the Associate Director for the past 1.5 years. She holds a DVM from Kansas State, a PhD in Virology from Auburn University, and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology. She received her anatomic residency training at Kansas State University, and her residency in clinical veterinary microbiology was performed at Auburn University. Dr. Walz has worked as a pathologist at Thompson Bishop Sparks State Diagnostic Lab for 5.5 years.
