Baked Beans & Meatloaf

The Department of Agriculture & Industries supports purchasing foods made, produced or headquartered in Alabama in order to support Alabama’s economy and ensure the safety and high quality of consumers’ foods. Ingredients highlighted in red in the following recipes are suggested purchases to support Alabama products.

Baked Beans

2 cans (16oz) "Pork and Beans"
1¼ cup John's Famous Angel Hair Dressing
(Birmingham, AL)
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
1 can (16oz) China Doll Kidney Beans, Drained (Mobile, AL)
¼ cup Brown Sugar
2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Combine ingredients in a 3 quart casserole dish
  3. Bake uncovered for 1 to 1 1/2 hours (until bubbling)

 

Buffalo Style Meat Loaf
½ cup Moore’s Buffalo Wing Sauce
½ lb ground sirloin
1 tbsp onion, minced
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp celery salt
1 tbsp chili powder
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 cup bread crumbs & oatmeal soaked in Barber’s milk
1 egg
Salt & Pepper to taste
Kelley’s Bacon to top
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Set aside bacon
  3. In large bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients
  4. Stir with fork until well blended
  5. Mold into a loaf and place in a standard loaf pan
  6. Top with Kelley’s Bacon strips
  7. Place the loaf pan in a larger pan and fill the larger pan
    with hot water half-way up the sides of the loaf pan
  8. Bake for 1 hour
  9. Let rest before cutting
